About the role
Chubb is looking for an experienced Sprinkler Fitter to join the Hawke’s Bay team in Napier. The role involves hands-on work across commercial and industrial properties, carrying out installation, servicing, maintenance, and minor works on wet and dry fire sprinkler systems.
This opportunity suits a practical tradesperson who enjoys problem-solving in the field and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. You’ll work independently as well as alongside a supportive service and technical team, helping keep fire protection systems compliant, safe, and dependable.

Key responsibilities
- Maintain wet fire protection systems in line with NZS 4541, NZS 4515, and Chubb procedures
- Perform inspections, testing, repairs, and small installation works
- Spot repair opportunities and help prepare scopes and quotes for recommended work
- Service a broad range of customer sites, including commercial and industrial environments
- Provide high-quality service while developing strong customer relationships
- Take part in an after-hours call-out roster when required
About you
- You hold, or can obtain, the NZQA New Zealand Certificate in Fixed Fire Protection Systems
- You have a current New Zealand driver’s licence
- You are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- Experience in a similar mobile service or maintenance position is highly valued
- You manage time well and can plan routes efficiently
- You are comfortable speaking with clients on site
- You can complete service paperwork and basic quotations
- You have strong knowledge of fire sprinkler products, services, and relevant industry standards
Conditions of employment
Employment is dependent on successfully passing a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, as well as a National Police Check.
