Role overview

We are hiring a Field Service Engineer II based in Dubai, UAE, to support advanced electrical testing and diagnostic systems used by power and utilities customers around the world. This position is hands-on and suits an engineer who enjoys solving technical issues in the field, working directly with customers, and travelling internationally for about 30% of the time.

What you will do

  • Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair work for electrical testing equipment.
  • Identify and resolve faults in relay-based, PLC-driven, and microprocessor-controlled systems.
  • Independently assess equipment failures and apply corrective fixes.
  • Remove, swap, and set up system parts as needed.
  • Confirm that repaired systems are operating correctly and ready for use.
  • Produce clear service documentation covering findings, repairs, and next steps.
  • Study failures to determine the underlying cause.
  • Share technical observations and reports with engineering teams.
  • Work with engineers to shape and deploy corrective actions.
  • Contribute field insights that help improve products and systems.
  • Lead commissioning activities at customer locations.
  • Deliver both practical and classroom-style training to customers.
  • Create customer-specific test procedures and operating instructions.
  • Provide training records and certification support where needed.
  • Help customers get the best performance and reliability from their equipment.
  • Serve as the main technical contact during service assignments.
  • Plan service visits and site work directly with customers.
  • Prepare service quotations, upgrade proposals, and budget estimates.
  • Support special projects with teams from engineering, sales, and management.
  • Recommend and apply field modifications when suitable.

What we are looking for

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a similar technical field is preferred, though equivalent industry experience may also be accepted. The ideal candidate brings 2 to 4 years of experience in electrical or electronic engineering, field service, maintenance, or technical support.

You should be comfortable working with diagnostic and test tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators, and must have strong fault-finding skills. The role also requires the ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents, use Microsoft Word and Excel confidently, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.

Additional strengths that would be useful include PLC programming or modification experience, exposure to high-voltage or high-current test systems, familiarity with partial discharge (PD) systems, and working knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience supporting customers in multiple international locations is also an advantage.
