Field Sales Executive - Wellington

About the role

DHL Express is seeking a driven and commercially aware Field Sales Executive to support growth in the Wellington area. In this position, you will expand revenue across your assigned territory by winning new business and strengthening existing client partnerships.

You will serve as a main contact for customers, delivering responsive service while uncovering opportunities to present DHL’s broader range of products and solutions. The role is practical, performance-focused, and requires you to manage your own sales pipeline while contributing to the overall success of the sales team.

Key responsibilities

• Find and convert new business through prospecting, referrals, and networking
• Develop and expand an existing customer base to drive higher revenue
• Stay in regular contact with clients through meetings and phone conversations
• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions
• Create and present sales proposals, tenders, and account plans
• Negotiate pricing in line with company policies
• Keep CRM records and pipeline updates accurate and current
• Work closely with Customer Service, Operations, Customs, and Finance teams
• Support sales campaigns, promotions, and events

What you need to bring

• Background in field sales or account management, or relevant experience in express freight or logistics
• Track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets
• Strong skills in relationship building and communication
• Solid organisation, planning, and time management abilities
• Self-starting, resilient attitude with the ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Comfort using Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
• Full, valid driver’s licence
• High level of self-motivation
