Field Recovery Officer

Overview

DLM Capital Group is hiring a Field Recovery Officer to join their Credit Risk Management team in Kano, Nigeria. This role focuses on recovering overdue loan accounts by strategically engaging with customers through various communication channels and field visits, while strictly adhering to the bank's recovery protocols and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and recover delinquent loan accounts via telephone, email, and in-person visits.
• Visit customers and guarantors to verify information and support loan recovery processes.
• Negotiate repayment schedules and settlements with borrowers to facilitate loan resolution.
• Track payment promises and ensure follow-up on commitments.
• Maintain detailed records of recovery activities and generate periodic recovery reports.
• Collaborate with Credit, Operations, Finance, and Legal departments to handle recovery cases efficiently.
• Manage customer complaints with professionalism and deliver timely solutions.
• Ensure all recovery operations comply with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks.

Candidate Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant field.
• Three to five years of experience in loan recovery, debt collection, credit risk, or related roles within Microfinance Banks, Commercial Banks, FinTech companies, or similar financial institutions.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal capabilities.
• Proven track record in meeting recovery targets.
• Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate independently and perform well under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with Core Banking Applications and CRM software is advantageous.
• Fluency in the local dialect is considered a plus.
