Role overview
This opportunity is for experienced professionals from Nigeria who are interested in field operations roles supporting Qatar-based facilities. The role is focused on safe, reliable day-to-day plant operation across one or more process areas such as Utilities, Inlet Receiving, Sulphur Recovery, or LNG.
What you will do
- Run assigned field operations within the relevant facility or unit, keeping equipment performance and condition under control so processes remain within approved operating limits.
- Build and maintain proficiency in operational procedures and work practices through hands-on learning and role rotation, so you remain ready to take on operator duties.
- Use approved operating and safety procedures when handling field equipment to support smooth process flow and stable plant performance.
- Track operating readings, maintain logs, and escalate abnormalities promptly to the supervisor for guidance or corrective action.
- Prepare equipment in the work area for maintenance, support maintenance execution, and return equipment to service once work is completed satisfactorily.
- Follow Permit to Work requirements throughout permit issuance and while supporting field audits related to PTW compliance.
- Observe personnel and activities on site through unit surveillance, routine safety walks, audits, and Observation Cards to help maintain safe and effective operations.
- Respond immediately as the first line of response during emergencies or major incidents to reduce risk to people, assets, and the environment.
- Brief the next shift operator thoroughly on operating conditions and any important events from the previous shift to ensure a smooth handover.
- Take regular and special samples as scheduled and directed by the shift supervisor.
- Carry out low-voltage electrical isolation and de-isolation work in preparation for maintenance, following approved procedures.
Requirements
- Secondary school education completed, covering 12 years of schooling.
- Vocational Training Programme certificate.
- At least 5 years of operator experience in one or more of the following areas: Utilities, Inlet Receiving, Sulphur Recovery, or LNG facilities.
