Job description

About the Company

GeologicAI is an expanding technology business focused on creating and deploying advanced tools for the energy and mining industries. The company develops robotic rock-scanning systems, applies AI to interpret scan data, and builds software that turns geological results into practical insights for locating and recovering natural resources. It is financially backed and growing quickly.

Role Overview

In this field operations role, you will work with GeologicAI’s rock-scanning robots to help customers unlock better geological understanding of their assets. The job may be based in a lab, in the field, or both. You will prepare core samples for scanning, operate and maintain equipment, and process scan outputs using the company’s proprietary software. You will also apply technical judgment and practical problem-solving to ensure high-quality data, while communicating with client geologists so they can make the most of the results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate GeologicAI’s rock-scanning robots and support field operations.
  • Prepare drill core and other samples for scanning.
  • Run, monitor, and maintain scanning equipment.
  • Work with the company’s software to process and manage scan data.
  • Use technical knowledge and good judgment to produce reliable data for clients.
  • Coordinate with client geologists and help them understand and use the output effectively.

What the Company Is Looking For

The ideal candidate brings some understanding of geology, solid technical ability, and comfort working in a remote field setting. You should be practical, hands-on, and willing to combine analytical thinking with manual work. The role also calls for resilience during long shifts, a positive attitude with coworkers and clients, and familiarity with computers, Excel, databases, or basic coding.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work overnight schedules and rotating shifts, typically on a 2-week rotation.
  • Must be able to lift and handle drill core boxes weighing up to 60 lbs repeatedly; core helpers/preppers will be provided after training.
  • Willingness to follow client safety rules while working on active mine sites.
  • Capable of traveling and working independently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong familiarity with Windows computers and software, including file navigation, file structures, keyboard shortcuts, remote desktop use, and DOS commands.
  • Ability to identify USB types and Ethernet/network switches, and troubleshoot hardware connection issues.
  • Preferred exposure to multi-node processing and network storage systems.
  • Comfort with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical tasks.
  • Experience in client-facing communication or customer service.
  • Fluent English communication skills are required.
  • Must be based in Saudi Arabia.

Preferred Background

  • Any introductory coding experience is considered an advantage.
  • Prior exposure to geology, especially drilling exploration programs, is helpful.
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing, core scanning, or imaging systems such as X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging, or magnetic susceptibility is a plus.

Education

A diploma, certificate, associate degree, or degree in Earth Science, Geology, Engineering, or Computer Science/Studies is preferred.

Schedule and Work Pattern

This is a shift-based role. The schedule includes 12-hour shifts, day shifts, night shifts, overtime, and weekend availability.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a salary of SAR 13,000 and includes health insurance.
