Job description

Role Overview

Cedar Star is a nonprofit organization based in Israel that focuses on practical cooperation between Israelis and Lebanese through humanitarian work, public outreach, professional knowledge exchange, business partnerships, and security-related people-to-people cooperation. The organization is hiring a Field Operations Officer to support the day-to-day functioning of its Security Cooperation Foundation.

The role suits a professional who brings strong people skills, sound operational thinking, and the ability to carry out work in a structured, careful, and discreet way. You will collaborate with a small team of experienced Israeli and Lebanese professionals on initiatives that require coordination, stakeholder management, documentation, and hands-on execution. This opening is available only to candidates living in Europe and is open to all genders.

About Cedar Star

Cedar Star is a professional nonprofit that develops practical initiatives aimed at improving cooperation between Israelis and Lebanese. Its work is organized around four foundations: public awareness, humanitarian assistance, business partnerships and knowledge exchange, and security cooperation between peoples. The organization emphasizes professionalism, accountability, and measurable results in every project.

What the Role Involves

As the Field Operations Officer, you will support the operational core of the foundation. Your responsibilities will include coordinating projects, maintaining relationships with professional contacts, assisting with meetings and field activities, and making sure initiatives move smoothly from planning to implementation. The role is intended for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, resolving operational issues, and working in settings where discretion, reliability, and judgment matter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage coordination across different foundation projects and operational tasks.
  • Assist with workshops, meetings, and professional exchange activities.
  • Develop and sustain trusted relationships with partners and other stakeholders.
  • Draft operational updates and keep documentation accurate and organized.
  • Support planning, logistics, scheduling, and on-ground execution of projects.
  • Track project status and share progress updates with senior leadership.
  • Follow internal processes and uphold operational standards consistently.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and strong professional English, both written and spoken. Lebanese Arabic and/or Hebrew would be a strong advantage. Prior experience in operations, project coordination, humanitarian work, diplomacy, security cooperation, or similar fields is preferred.

You should bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high level of professionalism, strong personal integrity, and the ability to work independently while staying aligned with an international team. Strong organization, close attention to detail, and comfort handling sensitive information confidentially are also important. Travel within Europe may be needed from time to time.

What the Organization Offers

The role offers the chance to join a highly selective group of Israeli and Lebanese professionals, along with compensation positioned at the upper end of similar nonprofit roles in Europe. The arrangement includes flexible remote work combined with project-based field activity.

You will also receive clear written contracts, full legal compliance in your country of residence, quarterly performance reviews tied to measurable outcomes, and the opportunity to contribute to work with real humanitarian and social impact. The position also supports professional development through responsibility, ownership, and international collaboration.

Who This Role Is Best For

This opportunity is a strong fit for professionals who enjoy managing complex projects, quickly building trust with different stakeholders, working effectively in multicultural settings, and staying composed in dynamic situations that require initiative and judgment. It is especially relevant for people who believe practical cooperation can strengthen communities.

Application Process

Applicants were asked to submit a CV through the provided application form or by email. The posting also included the organization’s careers email address and jobs page.
