Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Field Network Engineer to join our ISP/Telecom operations team. This position involves hands-on fieldwork focused on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting broadband and network equipment at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute on-site installation of internet services, including routers, modems, fiber ONT/ONU devices, and other telecom hardware.
  • Identify and fix connectivity issues relating to broadband, leased lines, and fiber networks at customer locations.
  • Perform fiber optic splicing, signal testing, and basic network setups for residential and enterprise clients.
  • Liaise with the Network Operations Center to address escalated technical challenges and ensure network reliability.
  • Record detailed reports of service visits, fault rectifications, installations, and customer acknowledgments on a daily basis.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and audits of field assets such as junction boxes, fiber distribution points, and optical fiber cables.
  • Provide end-users with guidance on equipment handling, safety measures, and simple troubleshooting methods.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements for timely fault resolution and installations, maintaining high customer satisfaction standards.
  • Manage inventory of field tools and consumables while ensuring proper care of company assets.

Candidate Requirements

  • Diploma in Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or similar technical streams.
  • Fresh candidates are welcome; 0 to 3 years experience in ISP/telecom field services is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic tools like OTDR, splicing machines, and signal testers is preferred.
  • Must own a two-wheeler and hold a valid driving license.
  • Flexibility to travel locally and work shifts on a rotational basis including weekends if necessary.
