Job description
Role overview
This role is centered on day-to-day field operations and maintenance support at the plant. The objective is to keep equipment and site facilities running safely and smoothly so production targets are achieved without compromising safety or quality.
Key responsibilities
The position holder must also handle any additional tasks assigned by senior authorities from time to time. The following are the main areas of responsibility:
- Follow approved policies, procedures, standard operating instructions and shift routines to ensure work is performed in a controlled and consistent way.
- Stay updated on good practices and emerging methods, and help improve systems, processes and procedures.
- Observe equipment condition using the LLF approach and keep assets healthy to support uninterrupted operations.
- Spot and escalate abnormalities in equipment performance in a timely manner.
- Monitor field equipment in line with SOPs, SOCs and checklists, and maintain the health records of HSEF-related equipment.
- Assist the shift superintendent in tracking process parameters and coordinate with maintenance teams to close CP-related issues on time.
- Support equipment handover and takeover from maintenance teams while following PTW, LOTO and workplace safety requirements.
- Collect field samples for laboratory analysis and carry out gas testing such as LEL and oxygen checks using portable instruments.
- Maintain accurate shift logs and document site activities in a standard format.
- Manage log books, forms, spare parts and consumable stock as required for the shift.
- Maintain housekeeping standards by handling hazardous materials properly, separating waste, reducing waste volume and keeping fire and safety equipment in good condition.
- Respond as a first responder during field emergencies and serve as a member of the Auxiliary Fire Squad.
- Understand rotary machine seal systems, including the importance of seal pot level and pressure.
- Know the lubrication systems of compressors and the significance of temperature, pressure and flow in the system.
- Verify the status of LO/LC valves.
- Be familiar with the field locations of different instruments.
- Participate in risk assessments during handovers, takeovers and process jobs, and conduct toolbox talks before job execution.
- Carry out process-related activities within safe operating limits to reduce the risk of failures, accidents, incidents and injuries.
- Identify, document and report near-miss events to help prevent repeat occurrences.
- Follow current safety and management systems and guidelines, including IMS, ISO, TQM, OMS, PSM, QCC and 5S.
- Comply with procedures related to LOTO, nitrogen gas safety and line breaking.
Education
The essential qualification is a Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
Experience
Applicants should have up to 3 years of experience working as a field executive in site operations.

- Recognition of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Completion compliance for OMPro tasks.
- Tracking incidents linked to operational or quality variance.
- Monitoring violations of OD norms.
- Recording workplace-related incidents in the plant.
- Carrying out field rounds (ODR).
- Maintaining entries in the SD job register.
- Ensuring plant housekeeping remains in order.
Additional notes
This is an operations-focused plant role in an industrial setting. The role involves safety-critical field work, strict adherence to procedures, and active support during routine operations as well as emergency situations.
