About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Fashion Showroom Assistant to join our team in the heart of Midtown Manhattan's Garment District. This position requires a polished, well-organized, and dynamic individual to facilitate daily showroom operations and support our sales team effectively in a fast-paced fashion environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome buyers and visitors, ensuring a professional and hospitable showroom atmosphere.
- Assist the sales staff during appointments, market weeks, and line presentations.
- Prepare the showroom daily by merchandising products, steaming, organizing, and maintaining displays in pristine condition for client viewing.
- Handle sample management by receiving, tagging, tracking, organizing, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Package and coordinate the shipping of samples to buyers, managing all inbound and outbound shipments and returns.
- Provide support with order entry and routine administrative responsibilities such as managing line sheets, invoices, follow-ups, and email communications.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including production, design, and logistics to ensure all updates are timely and accurate.
- Maintain showroom cleanliness and organization, ensuring it is always presentation-ready.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a fashion showroom, wholesale, or retail setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills paired with high levels of professionalism and customer service aptitude.
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and perform effectively under tight deadlines, particularly during market events.
- Comfortable using email and basic spreadsheet software such as Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Shopify or other ERP systems is advantageous.
- A background understanding of the fashion industry and wholesale processes is desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range between $50,000 and $75,000 depending on candidate experience.
