Role overview
Generation Love is hiring a Fashion Production Assistant to support apparel production operations in the New York City Metropolitan Area, with the role based in LIC, NY. This position suits someone who is highly organized, detail-focused, and interested in contributing to the development and delivery of quality fashion products.
What you'll do
- Help manage the production calendar so apparel orders move forward and are delivered on time.
- Prepare and update weekly WIP reports using information from factories and vendors, then keep a close watch on the status of each order.
- Flag urgent production problems to the manager right away when issues arise.
- Check and follow up on care label and trim submissions with factory partners to make sure everything is accurate and submitted promptly.
- Review and sign off on shipping marks, packaging layouts, hangtags, and other production materials.
- Create initial purchase orders and coordinate the handoff of orders to factory partners.
- Track and record all TOP approvals.
- Handle additional production-related responsibilities assigned by the Production Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Production Assistant or Production Coordinator in the fashion industry.
- Solid knowledge of garment construction and apparel production workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with other relevant software.
- Strong planning and coordination skills with the ability to handle several priorities at once.
- Good communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- A careful, detail-driven approach and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and changing business needs.
- Ability to work independently while meeting multiple deadlines.
Additional information
This is a full-time, onsite role in New York City. The position is centered on apparel production support and requires close coordination with internal teams and external factory/vendor partners.
