Role Summary

This position sits uniquely at the convergence of buying, planning, and sourcing. The key responsibility is to convert insights from design and sales into insightful merchandising strategies while procuring the necessary fabrics, trims, and raw materials that fulfill collections with optimal costs and quality. Collaboration with design, production, and finance teams is essential to ensure the correct products are delivered timely without excessive capital tied in excess inventory. This is a practical, on-site role requiring comfort with both sales data analysis and supplier negotiations.

Primary Duties

• Oversee the planning and management of merchandise assortments, product ranges, and inventory levels across various collections and sales channels.
• Examine sales, sell-through, and stock data to guide decisions on purchasing, pricing, and markdowns.
• Develop and control seasonal purchase plans and open-to-buy financial budgets.
• Identify, assess, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors for fabrics, trims, and sourcing materials.
• Manage the complete procurement process including purchase orders, negotiation on pricing, lead time coordination, and delivery scheduling.
• Monitor material stock levels to avoid shortages or surplus, coordinating effectively with production teams.
• Establish and nurture supplier relations to ensure the best pricing, quality, and dependability.
• Keep abreast of market movements and competitor strategies to inform assortment selections and sourcing tactics.
• Maintain precise and timely documentation and reporting for procurement and merchandising activities.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in fashion merchandising, buying, or procurement, preferably within womenswear or contemporary apparel sectors.
• Strong analytical aptitude capable of transforming sales and stock metrics into informed buying decisions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fabrics, trims, sourcing markets, and supplier negotiation practices.
• Proficiency in managing purchase orders, vendor relationships, and procurement budgets.
• Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with merchandising or planning tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational capabilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of Dubai or regional sourcing markets is advantageous.
• Relevant academic qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related areas are preferred.
