Job description
Overview
The role of Family Time Worker involves supervising and facilitating contact sessions between children and their parents or caregivers, ensuring these interactions are safe, positive, and meaningful. This position is full-time and permanent with 37 working hours per week, located in Lancaster as part of the Early Help Service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee family time sessions to foster supportive and secure contact between children and their families.
- Collaborate closely with Social Workers and Family Support Workers by monitoring, documenting, and reporting on interactions during sessions.
- Contribute valuable insights to care planning based on observations of family dynamics.
- Support parents in strengthening and rebuilding their relationships with their children.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience working in roles involving support for children and families.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
- Proficient in detailed observation and accurate record-keeping.
- Capable of managing conflicts effectively while establishing clear boundaries.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
- Willingness to be flexible and work occasional evenings, weekends, and school holidays as required.
