Job description

About the Role

Wright Family Law Group is a firm specializing in family law issues such as divorce, custody, and support. We are expanding and currently seeking an experienced family law paralegal to join our team remotely. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated attorney, handling your own caseload from initial filing through to resolution. You will also receive support from a discovery specialist and financial analyst, working in a focused team environment rather than juggling cases across multiple attorneys.

Our clients often face challenging personal circumstances, and the paralegal plays a vital role in maintaining communication and momentum throughout the case. If this responsibility resonates with you, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage family law cases alongside assigned attorneys, overseeing cases from client intake until conclusion.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, financial disclosures, and correspondence with clients.
  • Organize and prepare discovery materials, exhibits, and maintain case files efficiently.
  • Keep clients regularly informed and ensure attorneys meet all critical deadlines.
  • Maintain case records and documentation within the Clio case management system.
  • Monitor court deadlines and ensure all filing requirements are met timely.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience specifically as a family law paralegal, with familiarity in divorce, custody, and support law is essential; this is not an entry-level position.
  • Prior work experience in a legal firm environment as a paralegal, complemented by a paralegal certificate or equivalent training.
  • U.S. residency required, Massachusetts candidates preferred. Experience with Massachusetts family law or court procedures is a significant advantage.
  • Highly organized and reliable, with the ability to manage deadlines independently without supervision.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to remain composed during busy periods.
  • Comfortable using case management software; proficiency with Clio is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

  • This is a full-time remote position for candidates based in the United States.
  • Annual salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 depending on experience.
  • Benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off.
