Beginning with an hourly wage of $21.20 USD, this position may also include additional shift differentials between $2.00 and $3.50 per hour depending on eligibility. Compensation varies based on factors such as labor market conditions, education, certifications, and experience. Responsibilities
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with repair and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment such as hand tools and minor floor machinery.
- Serve as a Qualified Electrical Assistant adhering to electrical safety practices.
- Support installation and removal of equipment across the facility.
- Inspect interior and exterior areas to identify upkeep or repair needs.
- Maintain Powered Industrial Truck batteries including replacement, cleaning, record-keeping, and preventive maintenance.
- Perform maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshoot Label Tec Printers.
- Operate various hand and power tools, including drills, saws, sanders, grinders, pneumatic tools, and welders.
- Build or repair facility assets using carpentry, welding, and fabrication skills, such as assembling furniture or shelving.
- Conduct plumbing tasks including faucet and sprinkler installation and cleanup of drains and sumps.
- Carry out painting, drywall repairs, concrete patching, and minor concrete replacements.
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs like pest control and HVAC, and maintain related records.
- Handle waste management, including removal of cardboard bales and trash, and maintain orderly grounds.
- Operate snow removal equipment for cleaning walkways, roads, and parking areas.
- Drive Target-owned vehicles for yard cleanup, incident response, vendor escort, and parts/material collection.
- Adhere to safety protocols such as Lock Out/Tag Out and use personal protective equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
- Document work orders and requisitions properly, including details on labor, downtime, parts, and remedies using handheld devices and mobile applications.
- [Food & Beverage Facilities Only] Perform sanitation and maintenance following industrial ammonia refrigeration standards.
Physical and Work Environment Demands
- Regularly lift and carry items up to 47 pounds; occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
- Frequently move throughout the site for up to 10–12 hours per shift.
- Work in varied environments, including temperature-controlled spaces and conditions with dust, fumes, noise, vibration, and standing on concrete for extended periods.
- Access and work safely in all facility areas including conveyors, mezzanines, and confined spaces.
- Maintain manual dexterity, coordination, and use of feet and hands for equipment operation and task execution.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a valid driver's license applicable to the state of employment.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.

- Possesses effective communication abilities and basic math skills.
- Certified or able to achieve certification for operating all power equipment.
- Competent in using maintenance tools such as saws and drills.
- Capable of reading and understanding labels, instructions, and work tickets.
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
