Job description

About the role

MSWA is looking for a Facilities Officer to help keep its buildings and fleet operating efficiently. In this position, you will coordinate maintenance activity, handle incoming requests, and support the ongoing safety, usability, and upkeep of the organisation’s sites.

The role brings together coordination, troubleshooting, and working with a range of stakeholders, so it suits someone who works well in a busy environment and values delivering dependable service.

This is a permanent full-time position, offering 75 hours per fortnight and based in Belmont.

Key responsibilities

  • Track facilities and fleet enquiries through email and phone channels, and decide which matters need immediate attention.
  • Arrange both urgent repairs and planned maintenance across MSWA locations.
  • Work closely with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep tasks moving.
  • Organise routine servicing and make sure service commitments are being met.
  • Handle fleet-related administration such as reservations, repairs, insurance matters, and vehicle handovers or replacements.
  • Assist with security access management and respond to CCTV-related requests.
  • Keep clear and accurate documentation for maintenance work, assets, and contractor records.
  • Look for ways to improve processes and strengthen service delivery.

Must-have experience and skills

  • Background in facilities coordination, maintenance support, or a similar position.
  • Strong planning and organisational ability, including managing several priorities at once.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • A practical, proactive mindset with a focus on finding solutions.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
