Extrusion Utility Operator - Night Shift

Position Summary

This role works the night swing shift from 7 PM to 7 AM and is responsible for managing yarn waste, packing supplies, recycling materials, and facilitating the loading and unloading of these items. The position involves maintaining cleanliness in assigned work areas and ensuring efficient material handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Replace waste containers promptly when full and organize empty containers in staging areas.
• Weigh and record machine waste using designated waste forms located at the scale before shift end.
• Transport weighed full waste containers to the baling area and bale them efficiently.
• Provide daily supplies like tubes, dividers, and trays to line operators and restock as required.
• Dispose of trash responsibly into dumpsters and keep all assigned machines and workspaces clean.
• Operate lift trucks after passing the annual Lift Truck Certification exam.
• Load and unload trucks carrying raw materials and supplies as needed.
• Use scrubbers and vacuums to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Follow verbal instructions and complete tasks independently under limited supervision.
• Assist shipping and receiving departments as necessary.
• Operate balers and separate cardboard waste into different categories.
• Manage movement of full waste containers from production lines to balers, trailers, or staging areas.
• Ensure production floors are free from waste and keep polymer waste streams segregated by product type.
• Check and bale tube recycling bins, including those from third-floor operators, using lift trucks to transport buggies to dumpsters outside the annex.
• Use a pallet jack as part of daily operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or shift leads following established task lists.

Work Schedule

The position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule with hours aligning to the punch day, starting in the evening and advancing over calendar days.
