Job Overview

This permanent nightshift position is based at Tiaki Wai's Porirua Depot, involving work throughout the Wellington region. Join a committed nightshift team ensuring essential water infrastructure is maintained efficiently, with scope for overtime earnings paid weekly.

Key Duties

  • Perform installation and repairs on various sizes of water mains connections.
  • Handle diverse assignments, both planned and emergency reactive tasks.
  • Follow established trade practices to guarantee quality workmanship.
  • Flush and pressure-charge water mains as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple teams and contractors to achieve operational goals.

Work Schedule and Benefits

Candidate Profile

  • Must hold Connexis Level 3 or 4 certification in Pipeline Construction and Maintenance (Water strand).
  • Five or more years of experience in the water sector with proficiency in using hand tools, small machinery, and plant.
  • Demonstrates reliability, strong work ethic, and a proactive approach.
  • Comfortable utilizing technology such as tablets or iPads for data recording.
  • Understands and practices rigorous health and safety standards.
  • Holds a full, clean NZ Class 1 driver’s license; Class 2 and WTR advantageous.
  • Enjoys outdoor work and capable of performing manual labor tasks.
