Airservices Australia is a government-owned organisation responsible for managing 11% of the world’s airspace safely and efficiently, and for delivering aviation rescue firefighting services at Australia’s busiest airports.

Responsibilities
- Use air traffic control expertise to help manage aircraft movements safely and efficiently within Australian airspace.
- Apply current ratings, endorsements and operational knowledge in an active ATC environment.
- Support safe operations while working with advanced aviation systems and technology.
- Complete the required training and endorsement pathway after joining.
- Maintain compliance with safety, security and medical requirements throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
Requirements
- Current rating and endorsement in an Air Traffic Control environment.
- English language proficiency at AELP level 6.
- At least 5 years of civilian air traffic control operational experience.
- Recent operational ATC experience, having worked in an ATC environment within the last 6 months.
- Ability to provide certified documents and referees to support the application.
- Willingness to complete 1–3 months of training in Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth, depending on individual training needs.
- Current CASA Class 3 Medical, or willingness to obtain one.
- Willingness to undergo a police records check to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card.
- For some roles in the coming years, willingness to obtain a National Security Clearance if required due to new systems such as CMATS.

Salary Arrangements
Your starting salary will be tied to your relevant air traffic control experience and aligned with the Air Traffic Control Enterprise Agreement.
- 5 years of experience: start training at ATC 4, then move to level 5 once endorsed.
- 6 years of experience: start training at ATC 5, then move to level 6 once endorsed.
- 7 years of experience: start training at ATC 6, then move to level 7 once endorsed.
- 8 or more years of experience: start training at ATC 7, then move to level 8 once endorsed.
Security Clearance
Airservices is introducing new technology and systems, including the Civil Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS), over the next few years. As a result, some positions may require a National Security Clearance under the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework.
