Job description
Role Overview
This position sits within the Central Buying Organization (CBO) for the Animal Feed business at Godrej Agrovet Limited. The CBO sources more than 1.5 MMT of agri products across multiple business lines. The role is focused on strengthening procurement planning and execution through strong analytics, market tracking, reporting, and coordination across teams. Because agri commodities can shift quickly in both price and availability, the role demands high accuracy, quick turnaround, and timely insights to support buying decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, organize, and analyze procurement, supplier, and market information to support category management and sourcing decisions.
- Use data insights to contribute to cost improvement, supplier assessment, and risk reduction.
- Perform secondary research and work with procurement and business teams to build market intelligence.
- Monitor commodity prices, market movement, and supply conditions to help with forward planning.
- Create and share recurring dashboards and reports covering category results, cost movement, operational efficiency, and core procurement KPIs.
- Maintain accuracy and punctuality in reporting for leadership and internal review needs.
- Convert analytical findings into structured presentations with clear, actionable conclusions.
- Prepare commodity analysis decks that support both short-term and long-term decisions.
- Assist business reviews and strategy meetings with meaningful visuals and summaries.
- Track the progress of important procurement initiatives across locations and categories.
- Coordinate between central and regional teams to keep timelines, priorities, and outcomes aligned.
- Work with SAP, mobile applications, Power BI, and other digital tools to assess category dashboards and generate insights.
- Engage with buying teams to identify issues or opportunities and follow through on required actions.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong Excel capability, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and macros.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
- Working knowledge of ERP platforms such as SAP-MM, Tally, Oracle, or equivalent systems.
- Understanding of procurement workflows, spend review, and cost structure analysis.
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work within tight monthly and annual closure timelines.
- Ability to respond quickly to ad hoc reporting and management information requests.
Education
A graduate degree in Commerce, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline is required. A qualification in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business Analytics is preferred.
Preferred Background
The ideal candidate will have 2 to 6 years of experience in procurement MIS, reporting, or analytics, preferably with exposure to agro commodities. Experience in procurement and cross-functional environments, especially where data needs to be consolidated from multiple sources to create insights, will be valuable. Backgrounds from commodities trading, manufacturing, agri-business, automobiles, FMCG, or pharma are especially relevant.
Additional Information
Accuracy, speed, and sound judgment are especially important in this role because the business deals with highly volatile agri products where pricing and availability can change rapidly.
