Position Overview
The Executive Vice President of Regional Operations leads the management of one or more geographic regions, such as Greater China, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, or a combination of domestic regions. The role is accountable for regional operating performance, business expansion, resource planning, execution discipline, and organizational growth. The objective is to translate corporate strategy into effective regional action while improving efficiency, strengthening market position, and delivering business goals.
The position centers on regional business leadership, execution of operations, performance improvement, and strategic rollout. It also requires building a regional operating model, governance routines, and performance systems that raise capability, accountability, and competitiveness across the region.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop regional operating strategies and annual business plans, and ensure company-wide strategy is carried out effectively across the region.
- Create and maintain a structured regional operations framework, including business targets, governance processes, and operating standards.
- Take end-to-end ownership of regional business performance, including revenue, profitability, and growth outcomes.
- Track delivery against regional plans, refine business structure, and improve how resources are deployed.
- Set up and run systems for operational execution, major project delivery, and strategic initiative implementation.
- Monitor execution quality, resolve significant operational issues, and introduce ongoing improvement measures.
- Build and manage regional performance systems, including KPI tracking for revenue, costs, profit, and efficiency.
- Review business results, identify performance gaps, and lead initiatives that strengthen operational quality.
- Plan and optimize the use of people, budgets, equipment, and other operational resources to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Support resource allocation for key projects and establish formal resource management practices.
- Develop customer and market management mechanisms for major regional accounts, partners, expansion, and satisfaction growth.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Product, Finance, and HR to move priority initiatives forward.
- Coordinate cross-regional collaboration and encourage the adoption of proven practices across business units.
- Establish risk management, compliance, and internal control systems for regional operations.
- Identify business risks early, lead remediation efforts, and maintain stable operational performance.
- Create analytical dashboards and reports to review revenue, costs, profitability, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
- Lead process improvement and optimization efforts based on operational analysis.
- Head the regional leadership team and functional heads, while driving talent development, succession planning, and leadership growth.
- Build a high-performing organization culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Operations Management, Marketing, Economics, Management, or a closely related discipline.
- MBA or another relevant master’s degree is preferred.
- More than 25 years of experience in corporate operations, regional management, or business management.
- Over 10 years of senior leadership experience, such as Director or Vice President level.
- Background in managing large enterprises, multi-region operations, or multinational organizations is required.
- Hands-on experience in regional business leadership and team management.
- Exposure to business growth programs and operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience with integrating resources across regions is preferred.
- Strong capability in regional business oversight, strategy execution, operational management, and business analysis.
- Ability to manage resources, build teams, coordinate across functions, and drive risk control and compliance.
