Role Overview

The Executive Vice President (EVP) of Operational Excellence is a senior leadership role, accountable for spearheading company-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing operational performance in productivity, efficiency, quality, scalability, and overall organizational effectiveness. This position emphasizes cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, refining operational models, eradicating inefficiencies, driving down costs, elevating quality standards, and standardizing practices throughout the business.

Working closely with the CEO, executive team, business unit leaders, and operations functions, the EVP guides comprehensive transformation efforts to assure the delivery of measurable and lasting business enhancements. This executive steers wide-ranging projects including Lean management, Six Sigma, process optimization, automation, digital transformation, performance oversight, cost control, quality improvement, and capability building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Devise and implement operational excellence strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  • Create a unified framework for operational performance and continuous improvement.
  • Set priorities, KPIs, performance standards, and targets for operational excellence.
  • Lead organization-wide initiatives advancing productivity, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Apply operational excellence principles uniformly across business units and regions.
  • Drive accountability for measurable operational gains.
  • Oversee extensive process improvements, utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Total Quality Management methodologies.
  • Analyze workflows for inefficiencies and implement scalable operating models.
  • Standardize processes and reduce operational waste and costs.
  • Establish enterprise-wide KPIs, benchmarks, dashboards, and reporting for performance evaluation.
  • Lead performance reviews and recommend actionable improvements to senior management.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities while preserving quality and service levels.
  • Enhance productivity via process redesign, resource optimization, and technology leverage.
  • Lead operational digital transformation initiatives incorporating automation, AI, analytics, and digital platforms.
  • Champion data-driven decision making and modernization of systems in partnership with technology teams.
  • Manage enterprise-wide transformation and change management programs to foster continuous improvement and innovation culture.
  • Develop governance frameworks to ensure sustainable operational performance, manage risks, and assure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead senior operational teams and nurture leadership through development and succession planning.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and operational discipline across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 18 years of escalating leadership experience in operational excellence, operations management, continuous improvement, or organizational effectiveness.
  • Proven track record directing enterprise-wide operational transformation and performance boosting programs.
  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, process optimization, and operational performance management techniques.
  • Documented success in raising productivity, cutting costs, enhancing quality, and improving operational metrics.
  • Experienced in collaborating with CEOs, executive boards, and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with global operations, multi-location enterprises, or multifaceted business settings is highly desirable.
