Role overview
This management-level housekeeping role is based in Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and is responsible for leading the day-to-day shift activities of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry where applicable. The position focuses on keeping guest rooms, public areas, and associate spaces clean, well maintained, and aligned with brand standards, while also supporting guest satisfaction, team accountability, and budget control.
What you will do
- Oversee daily housekeeping shift activities and make sure policies, standards, and procedures are followed.
- Coordinate room status updates with the Front Desk in a prompt and efficient way.
- Work with Engineering on guest room maintenance issues.
- Manage the property’s cleaning schedule and prepare work assignments using room and checkout lists.
- Track inventory levels to confirm sufficient supplies are available.
- Support ordering of guest room supplies, cleaning materials, and uniforms.
- Maintain an inspection program for guest rooms and public areas, and follow up on issues that need attention.
- Ensure staff have the necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms to perform their jobs.
- Help manage controllable expenses and support the department in meeting budget targets.
- Review budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports as needed to assist financial oversight.
- Handle guest concerns and complaints, and work to improve service quality.
- Encourage employees to deliver strong customer service and keep guest satisfaction central in team discussions.
- Support investigations related to employee accidents when required.
- Monitor staffing levels so operational, service, and financial needs are balanced.
- Make sure expectations, policies, disciplinary steps, and documentation are clearly understood and applied consistently.
- Observe service behavior, share feedback, and use available tools to train new room attendants and provide follow-up coaching.
- Take part in performance appraisals, hiring interviews, orientation, and progressive discipline processes as needed.
Candidate profile
Applicants should either have a high school diploma or GED plus at least 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field, or hold a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a similar discipline, with no prior work experience required.
