Job description
Role overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity with QLeave at an important stage of organisational growth. Reporting to the General Manager and sitting on the Senior Executive Leadership Team, the role will help define the organisation’s direction across digital capability, data, enterprise risk and assurance.
QLeave is a statutory authority that administers Queensland’s portable long service leave schemes and manages more than $2 billion in funds. The role is central to supporting better governance, stronger decision-making and improved outcomes for Queensland workers.
What the role covers
This position goes well beyond a standard technology or risk executive remit. It brings together ICT, data and insights, enterprise risk, assurance and organisational improvement into one integrated portfolio. The goal is to ensure these functions are aligned and delivering value across the business.
You will promote a business partnering model, expand digital capability, improve organisational resilience and help embed a continuous improvement mindset throughout the organisation.
Key accountabilities
Working closely with the General Manager, the Senior Executive Leadership Team and the QLeave Boards, you will contribute to enterprise strategy and lead major transformation activity. You will oversee information security and risk frameworks, strengthen the organisation’s data and insights capability, and support the ongoing maturity of governance practices against best-practice standards.
You will also have an important role in strategic planning and in supporting future organisational change, including accommodation and workplace initiatives.
Leadership requirements
The ideal leader will combine strategic judgement with excellent stakeholder management. You should be comfortable working across a complex, highly regulated environment and have a strong track record in leading enterprise-wide corporate functions such as digital transformation, data and insights, enterprise risk, assurance and organisational improvement.
Success in the role will depend on your ability to build effective business partnering approaches, influence executive decisions, guide transformation and engage confidently with Boards and senior leaders. You will be expected to lead with authenticity, build trust, strengthen capability and contribute to an organisation known for purpose, integrity and service.
