Job description
Role Overview
An exciting leadership opening in Saudi Arabia for a senior commercial operator to help define the future of a newly formed organisation. The position calls for an entrepreneurial executive with deep exposure to shipping, ports, logistics and economic zones, and a strong record of creating partnerships, opening new business lines and driving investment-led growth. This is a true build-and-scale role, suited to someone who has launched ventures, secured major alliances and delivered commercial results in complex infrastructure settings.
What You Will Do
- Set and deliver the organisation’s strategy for business partnerships and commercial expansion.
- Source, secure and oversee strategic collaborations across shipping, ports, logistics, industrial development and economic zones.
- Design new revenue opportunities and business lines that support long-term organisational goals.
- Lead business development, investor engagement and commercial deal-making with public- and private-sector stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with global port operators, shipping companies, logistics firms, developers and investors.
- Contribute to investment cases, commercial structures and joint venture concepts.
- Act as a senior representative with government leaders and international counterparts.
Candidate Background
The ideal candidate brings more than 15 years of experience in business development, strategic alliances or commercial leadership within ports, shipping, maritime or logistics. They should have a proven history of building businesses, introducing new ventures or setting up new operating models, rather than only overseeing established operations. A strong industry network, experience in attracting capital, handling complex negotiations and forming strategic partnerships are essential. The role also requires strong commercial judgement, negotiation ability and stakeholder management skills.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a unique chance to help establish a flagship organisation from the ground up and shape the commercial platforms and partnerships that will support one of the region’s most ambitious investment initiatives.
