Job description
Role Overview
This position supports a Vice President in a fast-moving corporate setting. The successful candidate will provide broad administrative and operational assistance, stay ahead of shifting priorities, and work with a high degree of judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Work Arrangement
This is an in-office role. Current corporate policy requires being onsite at least four days each week, currently Monday through Thursday, with extra onsite support as needed.
What You’ll Do
You will act as a trusted partner to the Vice President, coordinating calendars, travel, meetings, and leadership activities. The role also involves working with executive offices across the Southern Company organization and handling sensitive information with care and discretion.
Experience Requirement
Applicants need at least five years of experience supporting senior executives.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate will bring strong executive support experience in a corporate environment, along with the ability to manage complex schedules, travel, communications, timekeeping, expense reporting, and other administrative processes. The role calls for sound decision-making, strong organization, excellent time management, and the ability to juggle multiple high-priority tasks at once. Clear written and verbal communication, careful proofreading, and a polished professional presence are essential. Comfort with Microsoft Office, Adobe tools, virtual meetings, conferencing platforms, and hybrid collaboration tools is also important.
