Job Overview

The Excavation Documentation Support Engineer is responsible for coordinating and reviewing excavation-related documentation from production activities to guarantee completeness, consistency, and alignment with project specifications. This role includes preparing supporting logs, drawings, and relevant documentation to facilitate reporting and stakeholder evaluation.

The engineer must ensure that field updates are accurately incorporated into the project documentation package and promptly identify any inconsistencies requiring correction. Interaction with site teams and production coordinators is essential to document changes, maintain version control, and enable smooth documentation handovers.

Additional duties involve assisting in audit preparations and internal quality inspections to ensure full traceability from execution through to final records.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting excavation documentation within construction or production environments, preferably with knowledge of site documentation workflows.
  • In-depth understanding of construction documentation practices, including as-built and record drawings, logs, version control, and document traceability in production contexts.
  • Expertise in document control procedures and meticulous attention to detail to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams encompassing site, production, and quality/document control departments, and communicate clearly in dynamic environments.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, excavation and earthworks terminology, and standard reporting demands of construction projects.
  • Competence in relevant computer software used for documentation preparation, drawing/document management, and reporting to keep project records well-organized.
