Job description

Role Summary

This position acts as the primary Finance representative for the European region under the direction of Group headquarters. The Finance Business Partner is accountable for ensuring financial precision, regulatory compliance, and clarity concerning the regional operating outcomes. The role is jointly responsible for delivering regional key performance indicators such as GMV, Invoice Sales, and Contribution Profit alongside the Regional General Manager and business leaders.

Reporting Structure and Location

  • Direct reporting to Industry Finance Director
  • Dotted reporting line to EU Region General Manager
  • Based in Düsseldorf, Germany

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead market and competitor analysis to aid regional and channel teams in spotting growth avenues and developing operational plans.
  • Translate business strategies into detailed financial models aligned with corporate objectives and monitor plan implementation.
  • Conduct financial analyses to identify key performance drivers and establish comprehensive KPI systems.
  • Maintain and own the regional management dashboard covering various financial metrics including GMV and Operating Expenses.
  • Manage marketing resource allocation and optimize return on investment through ongoing evaluations.
  • Collaborate with marketing, GTM, and channel departments to manage product Profit & Loss throughout the operational cycle.
  • Supervise financial aspects across multiple sales channels, including Amazon (fees and ROI metrics), Retail (ledger, rebates, inventory, receivables), and DTC/TikTok Shop (customer acquisition, lifetime value, commission ROI, returns, and fulfillment costs).
  • Contribute to contract reviews ensuring financial risks are recognized and mitigated.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc financial performance reports with quantitative and qualitative analyses for regional leadership.
  • Implement internal control frameworks such as Delegation of Authority and support compliance and accrual accounting processes in line with Group and regional standards.

Qualifications

  • University degree with a minimum of five years experience in consumer brand environments, specifically in business planning, budgeting, analysis, or rolling forecasts.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to convert business plans into precise financial models to facilitate decision-making.
  • High business acumen and ability to foster cross-team collaboration through credibility and influence, exhibiting proactivity and accountability.
  • Finance partner mindset focused on collaboration supported by solid financial principles.
  • Meticulous with data management, ensuring all figures are traceable and unambiguous.
  • Self-reliant and resilient in maintaining financial discipline between local management and the Group, with readiness to present difficult findings.
  • Process-oriented thinker who develops sustainable financial systems rather than temporary fixes.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience with multinational consumer brands in European markets (e.g., P&G, L'Oréal, Huawei, Philips, Dyson, Lenovo).
  • Financial hands-on expertise in at least two sales channels such as Amazon marketplace, retail, and direct-to-consumer.
  • Experience establishing a regional finance department from inception.
  • Fluent Chinese (native level) and English, with additional European languages being advantageous, able to bridge headquarters reporting standards and local business contexts.
