Estimator - Commercial Fit-Out & Hospitality Projects

About the Role

Join a reputable boutique contractor in Sydney's CBD renowned for delivering complex commercial fit-out and hospitality renovations, including hotel refurbishments, premium workplace interiors, and heritage projects. As part of a growing pre-construction team, you will take ownership of the cost estimation process, contributing to securing and executing an expanding pipeline of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), conduct take-offs, and create accurate cost plans from architectural drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate subcontractor tender packages and assess received pricing submissions.
• Identify potential scope inconsistencies, assess constructability risks, and propose value engineering solutions.
• Prepare competitive and professional tender bids aligned with project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure pricing aligns with construction methodology and scheduling.
• Participate in post-tender analysis and assist with project handovers to ensure smooth transitions.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate efficient tendering processes.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of five years’ experience in estimating within commercial construction or fit-out sectors.
• Proficient in performing take-offs and preparing BOQs with the ability to price projects from fundamental principles.
• Demonstrated capability in managing trade packages through all stages of the tender process.
• Strong communication skills enabling confident presentation of pricing details to stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple tender processes simultaneously.
• Experience working on hospitality, heritage, or specialized fit-out projects is highly valued.
• Familiarity with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, or Buildsoft.
• Relevant trade qualifications or a degree in construction-related disciplines are welcome.
