Role overview

Ingliston Country Club and Hotel is hiring a permanent Estate/Night Porter at an exciting stage of growth. The right person will help keep the estate operating smoothly and maintain security across the site at all times.

About the estate

The property is a scenic 90-acre private estate near Glasgow Airport, positioned conveniently between Glasgow city centre and Loch Lomond. This family-run business includes an award-winning conference and wedding venue with three refined suites, a boutique hotel, luxury lodges, Palomino’s restaurant, and an equestrian centre. The business also has future plans to introduce an RV park in the coming months.

Working pattern

This is a full-time position of 42 hours per week, worked across five days out of seven. Weekend work is a significant part of the role.

Key duties

• Keep hotel access points secure in line with hotel procedures and policies.
• Carry out overnight security-related tasks as needed.
• Escalate any hazards, whether potential or actual, without delay.
• Report unusual events or issues to the Estate Manager.
• Support the Events Team with room setup requirements.
• Provide help to other teams whenever additional support is required.

What the ideal candidate looks like

The employer is seeking someone with experience in a similar setting, strong interpersonal skills, and a confident, welcoming manner. Professional presentation and clear communication are important. Flexibility is essential, especially for weekend working. A driving licence would be an advantage because of the location.
