About the Role
ESPN’s internship opportunity sits within the Product Marketing and Subscriber Strategy function, where the team develops direct-to-consumer growth plans and testing frameworks that support subscriber acquisition, retention, and engagement. The work centers on improving the fan journey across key touchpoints such as fantasy sports experiences, marketing landing pages, and upsell or cancellation flows. The broader mission is to deepen fan loyalty and clearly communicate the value of staying subscribed.
ESPN connects with audiences through breaking news, live sports, studio programming, original storytelling, streaming, social media, and digital platforms, reaching millions of fans every day.
The internship is expected to run from September 2026 to December 2026 and is based in New York City.
Responsibilities
- Help coordinate and manage projects tied to a range of business priorities.
- Work with teammates to turn campaign results into practical insights.
- Assist with day-to-day administrative and operational tasks, including asset coordination and requests.
- Partner with teams inside and outside the marketing group to support shared learning across departments.
- Explore emerging streaming trends and use cases that can strengthen ESPN’s marketing approach.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication and organization abilities developed in collaborative settings.
- Interest in reviewing data and dashboards to guide marketing actions and campaign decisions.
- Excitement about expanding streaming reach through creativity and personalization.
- Experience working across teams while handling several projects and deadlines at once.

Preferred Background
- Prior exposure to marketing or sports media through schoolwork or an internship.
- Basic familiarity with the ESPN brand and its content offerings.
- Understanding of sports from both a fan viewpoint and a business perspective.
- Knowledge of CRM programs or common CRM practices.
Education
- Senior standing is preferred.
- Preferred fields of study include Communications, Marketing, Sports Media, or a related discipline.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class at the time of application, or currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current participants in Disney Intern, College, International, or Culinary programs may work for no more than one continuous year (12 months) across any internship or program combination.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Applicants must have unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
- The intern should be able to maintain a steady and dependable work schedule throughout the assignment.
- Full availability Monday through Friday is required for the entire internship, with 40 hours of work each week.
- Housing in the New York City area must be arranged by the intern for the duration of the program.
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace is required.
- The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.50 per hour.
