About the Role

James L Williams Middle East seeks a skilled ERP Specialist proficient in JD Edwards to lead the functional design, deployment, continual improvement, and oversight of the ERP platform. This position is critical in aligning the ERP system to support core business operations, maintain internal controls, comply with regulatory requirements, and foster organizational growth across multiple departments including Finance, HR, Commercial, Cost Control, Procurement, Projects, and Inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Steer ERP implementations, system enhancements, stabilization efforts, and provide ongoing operational support.
  • Serve as the primary interface between business units and ERP service providers or original equipment manufacturers.
  • Collect and translate business requirements into ERP system configurations and setups.
  • Administer and configure essential ERP modules effectively.
  • Manage data migration processes, govern master data integrity, and oversee system integrations.
  • Handle change requests, system upgrades, and maintain detailed functional documentation.
  • Design and develop reports, standard operating procedures, and process workflows to enhance system usability.

Business Process Optimization

  • Evaluate and enhance complete ERP-driven workflows to maximize efficiency.
  • Identify areas to automate processes and reduce operational waste.
  • Ensure seamless integration and accurate data exchange between the ERP and other enterprise systems.
  • Keep track of system performance and propose improvements.
  • Deliver ongoing functional assistance and resolve operational issues promptly.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and comprehensive user training sessions.
  • Lead initiatives to increase user adoption and manage organizational change.
  • Create dashboards, customized reports, and data collection forms tailored to user needs.
  • Provide dedicated support to offices in the UAE and KSA as well as project locations.
  • Collaborate with IT and security departments ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and information security policies.

Compliance and Control

  • Align ERP processes with financial control requirements and support audit processes in UAE and KSA jurisdictions.
  • Maintain strict role-based access controls and enforce segregation of duties.
  • Contribute to both internal and external audit activities ensuring adherence to compliance standards.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance or Information Technology is required.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on ERP functional experience specifically with JD Edwards.
  • Proven expertise configuring ERP in medium to large scale companies.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, project accounting, and supply chain management within engineering or contracting sectors.
  • Experience supporting audit processes, enforcing controls, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Mandatory experience in engineering, construction, or project-driven settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Oracle JD Edwards.
  • Background in project accounting and cost control.
  • Experience working with UAE and KSA market operations.
  • Project management certification is an advantage.
