About the role

The Enterprise Risk Management Specialist will support the rollout and day-to-day operation of the ERM framework at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. Based on the Dhahran campus, this position helps ensure that senior leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee have timely, accurate risk insights to support informed decisions. The role reports to the Deputy Chief Audit Executive.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in carrying out the organisation-wide enterprise risk management framework and strategy.
  • Support both first-line and second-line risk activities to strengthen ERM maturity.
  • Improve tracking and reporting for ERM programs by collecting data and helping build dashboards, KPIs, and other management reports.
  • Review risk gaps, events, tests, and exercises to spot patterns and support root-cause and lessons-learned analysis.
  • Apply current industry practices to identify emerging risks and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Build effective working relationships across the organisation, including with senior leaders.
  • Ask thoughtful questions and provide constructive challenge to decision-makers when needed.

Qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in risk management, with strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles.
  • Working knowledge of risk and control identification and assessment.
  • Familiarity with risk monitoring and reporting methods.
  • Experience using GRC tools or similar risk management systems.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts, challenge constructively at different management levels, and influence business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CRMP or an equivalent certification is required/preferred as stated in the source.
  • English and Arabic language ability is required.
