About the Role
Batterjee Medical College is seeking an experienced and dedicated ER Clinic Nurse to deliver exceptional nursing and emergency care services within our campus clinic. This role requires providing safe, effective, and compassionate nursing assistance during medical emergencies and routine clinical situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt, high-standard nursing care and support in urgent and emergency medical situations.
- Respond without delay to medical emergencies occurring anywhere on campus, addressing critical conditions such as unconsciousness.
- Evaluate and monitor patient conditions, including vital signs measurement and documentation.
- Provide first-response emergency nursing interventions and assist in stabilizing patients pending further medical treatment or transfer.
- Administer intramuscular and intravenous medications as prescribed and authorized within nursing practice scope.
- Conduct ECG procedures as requested by the ER Clinic Doctor.
- Support physicians during examinations, treatments, and emergency interventions, including aiding in physical exams for female patients when necessary.
- Offer reassurance, advice, and appropriate support to students and patients visiting the clinic.
- Ensure all emergency equipment and clinical tools are clean, operational, and readily accessible.
- Regularly inspect AED/defibrillators, ECG devices, and other emergency apparatus per established protocols.
- Monitor medication and supply expiration dates through routine monthly checks.
- Maintain adequate stocks of medications, disposables, and medical materials.
- Disinfect or sterilize instruments and equipment before clinical use.
- Keep the clinic prepared to effectively handle emergency situations at all times.
- Uphold strict infection control measures and clean clinical environments between patients following protocols.
- Observe occupational health, safety, infection prevention, and emergency response procedures rigorously.
- Handle medical and clinical waste safely and in accordance with guidelines.
- Maintain precise clinical documentation, including patient identification, treatment records, admissions, and discharge times, ensuring confidentiality.
- Assist with administrative and reception tasks related to clinic operations as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the ER Clinic Doctor and other departments to facilitate optimal care and emergency preparedness.
- Participate actively in meetings, emergency drills, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Exhibit professionalism and service-mindedness in all interactions with patients, students, staff, and visitors.
- Perform other related tasks assigned within the job scope.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an equivalent accredited nursing qualification.
- Current professional classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Advanced emergency certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.
- A minimum of two years’ nursing experience, preferably in Emergency Departments, ER clinics, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or comparable healthcare environments.
- Experience in emergency response and providing immediate nursing care is highly desirable.
