Job description
Role Overview
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to support production operations in Singapore. In this role, you will help keep equipment running reliably, support preventive maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in a regulated manufacturing environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Carry out shift duties to support day-to-day production needs.
- Complete preventive maintenance according to the assigned schedule and technical specifications.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and aligned with safety expectations in production and maintenance support zones.
- Assist engineers with evaluations, experiments, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support equipment uptime by reducing breakdowns and minimizing repair turnaround time.
- Help with troubleshooting tasks and improvement initiatives led by engineers.
- Follow ISO 13485:2003 and 21 CFR 820 requirements in all work performed.
- Share observations and suggestions that can improve equipment stability and performance.
- Support onboarding of new team members by serving as an OJT buddy.
- Take part in continuous improvement activities and contribute ideas actively.
- Maintain accurate documentation and protect the integrity of preventive maintenance records and results.
Requirements
- NITEC in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience; fresh diploma holders may also be considered.
- Willingness to learn and a positive, proactive mindset.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Practical, hands-on technical ability in equipment maintenance.
Work Environment and Conditions
This position is based at Gul Circle and follows a 12-hour rotating shift pattern that changes every 4 months. The role involves working in a cleanroom and under strict GMP conditions. Personal appearance restrictions apply in the cleanroom, including no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, or facial hair. Contact lenses are not permitted; prescription safety glasses will be provided. The job also requires working with hazardous or toxic materials and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance.
