Epidemiologist

Role Overview

We are seeking an Epidemiologist to provide expertise in evaluating patient programs and digital health tools through well-structured study designs, measurement strategies, and outcome assessments. This contract role spans four months with the possibility of extension and requires remote engagement following Eastern Standard Time office hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Patient Health Innovation (PHI) Insights & Capabilities team to develop and communicate data-driven insights on population health initiatives.
• Assist in implementing comprehensive measurement strategies, including robust study designs, KPIs, and evaluation frameworks to inform brand and organizational strategies.
• Translate business and patient-focused objectives into clear performance indicators and analytic plans that support evidence-based decision-making.
• Support the creation and scaling of analytic tools that identify and prioritize opportunities across the patient journey.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including external vendors, marketing, and analytics to ensure analytic solutions have clear success metrics and actionable insights.
• Manage or participate in meetings such as contracting/team stand-ups, collaborating with up to approximately ten stakeholders including project leads, vendors, and analytics partners.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health or related field.
• 4-6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven background in digital program measurement and evaluation focused on pharmaceutical media approaches engaging healthcare professional-to-patient and direct-to-patient models.
• Expertise in designing measurement strategies that assess performance across business, customer, patient, and channel dimensions including KPI definition, baseline and target setting, test-and-learn methodologies, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Strong understanding of health equity issues and the factors contributing to healthcare disparities is highly preferred.
• Experience in evaluation science, study design, use of control and intervention groups, and addressing biases within studies.
• Familiarity with healthcare data types such as claims data, electronic health records, real-world evidence, vendor-supplied, or unstructured data.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex methodologies into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Project coordination and management skills alongside confident stakeholder communication, including speaking up in vendor meetings.

• Background in public health with pharmaceutical or healthcare industry exposure.
• Experience working with real-world evidence data and digital patient engagement tools.
• Knowledge of working with external vendors and understanding clinical or patient-facing environments.

Additional Notes

• This is a fully remote position operating on Eastern Standard Time.
