  • Manage environmental systems, processes, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee resource consent applications, environmental planning, and compliance obligations.
  • Provide expert advice on Resource Management Act requirements and project delivery.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with mana whenua, councils, regulators, community groups, environmental organisations, and resource users.
  • Lead, support, and develop a team of environmental specialists.
  • Work across multiple sites and contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources.

What you need

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a closely related field.

  • Demonstrated experience engaging with mana whenua and maintaining effective relationships with councils, regulators, and other external stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to guide a professional team while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Experience in the energy sector or another complex infrastructure environment.
  • Well-developed project management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Benefits and support

  • Southern Cross medical cover, plus life, trauma, and income protection insurance.
  • Electricity and gas discounts, along with an additional 20 Power Shout hours each year.
  • Employer KiwiSaver contribution matching up to 4%, or 3% with the GenSaver allowance.
  • Flexible working arrangements and leave options to help balance work and personal commitments.
  • Annual wellbeing allowance, access to the Best Doctors online service for you and your family, and other wellbeing support.
  • Learning, development, and career growth opportunities in a supportive culture.
