Role Overview

This position involves fostering a strong culture of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) throughout the organization. The coordinator supports the implementation of programs, policies, and assessments to ensure compliance with governmental and internal EHS laws and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development and revision of safety programs and policies; evaluate hazardous situations and workflows and suggest improvements to mitigate risks.
• Deliver EHS training covering accident avoidance, regulatory adherence, emergency preparedness, forklift operation safety, and lifting procedures.
• Manage incident handling including accident investigations, employee medical care management, and return-to-work programs; maintain accurate incident and injury records to resolution.
• Oversee handling, processing, and collection of hazardous, universal, and recyclable waste materials.
• Collect water, wastewater, stormwater, and other environmental samples with proper chain-of-custody procedures, submit to labs, and process the analysis results.
• Conduct EHS-related audits and inspections, document findings, and ensure adherence to local environmental regulations.
• Record findings and issues in electronic EHS databases and follow up on corrective action plans to address unsafe or non-compliant conditions.
• Investigate employee and environmental incidents to identify root causes and recommend effective resolutions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support EHS objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of three years' professional experience in EHS, including management of injured worker healthcare documentation.
• Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment related to EHS duties.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively.
• Competent training skills to educate employees on EHS-related topics.
• Well-organized with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment such as air quality devices.
• Knowledgeable about environmental regulations.
• Proficient with computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other relevant software.
• Manual handling instructor certification is highly advantageous.
