Job description
Overview
Bureau Veritas is looking for a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environment professional to support supervision on major dam, hydropower, or large infrastructure works in Tajikistan. The role calls for deep experience in HSE oversight and environmental and social compliance within complex construction settings.

Role focus
The specialist will be expected to contribute to construction-site environmental and social monitoring, with a strong emphasis on compliance oversight and coordination across demanding project environments.
Mandatory requirements
Applicants should have substantial HSE experience on large-scale dam construction, hydropower, or major infrastructure projects. A background in hydropower projects is essential.
Experience on projects funded by international financial institutions is required.
The assignment also requires proven ability to lead HSE teams in challenging environments with multiple contractors involved.
Familiarity with World Bank HSE guidance and Environmental and Social Standards, especially ESS2 and ESS4, will be viewed as a strong advantage.
Education and language
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certification, such as IEMA or an equivalent credential, is an added benefit. Fluency in English is required.
Experience
The role is intended for professionals with around 10 years of experience, while the broader summary highlights candidates with 15+ years of HSE leadership experience on major projects.
Responsibilities
