Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Overview

The Environment, Health and Safety Manager will lead the planning and execution of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management plan for a large-scale infrastructure project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing contractor compliance, ensuring adherence to all client and regulatory HSE standards, and fostering a strong safety culture across the entire construction site.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the project's HSE management strategy.
• Monitor and evaluate contractor HSE performance to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct thorough site safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify risks and areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present detailed HSE reports, including statistics and recommendations for enhancing safety on site.
• Champion a pervasive safety culture among all site staff and subcontractors to mitigate risks and promote best practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Professional membership with IOSH or an equivalent occupational health and safety body.
• Minimum of 20 years overall relevant experience.
• At least 5 years in a similar role managing HSE on complex construction projects.
• Minimum 10 years of experience working within the Middle East region, preferably Saudi Arabia.
• Proficient in spoken, written, and reading English.
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical (High Voltage) safety and excavation or utility trenching safety in infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing HSE across multiple interacting packages including civil, wet utilities, dry utilities, and HV works simultaneously.

Work Environment and Location

The position is based on-site at a project location in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, geared towards construction supervision services involving civil, road, and utility infrastructure.
