Job description

About Waystone

Waystone is a major provider of asset-servicing solutions for institutional governance, administration, risk, and compliance support to financial organisations. With more than 25 years of experience and a broad portfolio of specialist services, the company supports clients as they structure, run, and expand their businesses through expertise, innovation, and digital capabilities, backed by the scale needed for international growth.

Role Summary

The Enterprise Risk Manager will work with the Director of ERM Strategy and senior leaders to implement, refine, and oversee the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) across the Waystone Group. This position is centred on ensuring the framework is applied consistently, improving the control assurance environment, and producing useful risk insights that inform decisions across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with strategic enterprise risk initiatives, including the ongoing development and testing of the Enterprise Risk Management Application (ERMA).
  • Support the automation and digitisation of risk processes and management reporting.
  • Help implement new regulatory requirements that affect the ERMF.
  • Contribute to ongoing enhancement of the ERMF by identifying improvements to frameworks, processes, and tools.
  • Support the creation and improvement of ERMF dashboards and risk reports for senior management, risk committees, and boards.
  • Produce concise, structured, and practical risk insights, including findings from control assurance work such as CSA, RCSA, and CAAP.
  • Help review and challenge risk information to surface key themes and emerging trends.
  • Support the continued rollout and strengthening of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework across the Group.
  • Promote consistent approaches to risk identification, assessment, monitoring, escalation, and reporting across business units, core functions, and jurisdictions.
  • Help ensure business units and core functions meet the expectations of the Group’s Control Assurance framework.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the ERMF by improving methodologies, standards, tools, and supporting documentation.
  • Support communication and awareness of the ERMF across business units, centralised services, and the wider Group.
  • Develop productive working relationships across functions and regions while acting as a reliable second-line partner.
  • Help build a strong risk and controls culture through engagement, communication, and training activities.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have experience in enterprise risk, compliance, or process/control auditing within a regulated environment, along with practical exposure to risk frameworks, control assurance, and risk reporting.

Skills and Technical Capability

  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to distil information and spot meaningful risk patterns.
  • Confidence in reviewing and questioning risk data in a structured and constructive way.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • A proactive, practical approach to managing risk.
  • Excellent attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI for reporting and visualisation.
  • Interest in data, automation, and emerging technologies such as AI.

Education

An internationally recognised professional qualification or a relevant degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline is required.
