Masdar, also known as Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, was founded in 2006 and has grown into a major global clean energy business. The company develops, invests in, and operates renewable energy projects across multiple technologies and regions, with a project portfolio exceeding 65 GW today. Backed jointly by TAQA, ADNOC, and Mubadala, Masdar is working toward a 100 GW portfolio by 2030.
Role Summary
Masdar is looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join the Chief Digitalization Officer’s leadership group. In this role, you will act as the main strategic and technical lead for the company’s global digital landscape. You will shape an adaptable, composable enterprise architecture that connects modern corporate applications with operational systems used in renewable energy assets, while also directing the global data management and data governance agenda.
Key Purpose
The position is designed to strengthen Masdar’s ability to grow securely, quickly, and intelligently. You will help define shared data structures and governance standards that turn international operational data into meaningful business advantage. You will also contribute to building a strong architecture and data team capable of supporting the company’s long-term digital expansion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the enterprise digital architecture function and act as a key advisor to the Chief Digitalization Officer.
- Create and guide a modular enterprise architecture that links corporate platforms with field operations across renewable energy assets.
- Own the global data management and data governance strategy.
- Define standard data taxonomies, master data structures, and governance frameworks across the business.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of domain architects and data management specialists.
- Strengthen and scale digital architecture and infrastructure to support secure and efficient growth.
- Translate complex technical architecture concepts into clear business value for leadership and stakeholders.
- Resolve architecture design disagreements and prioritize roadmap phases that best support operational needs and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively across the CDO organization, coaching and developing team members.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture at a global level, preferably in asset-intensive or energy-related environments.
- Minimum 10 years of experience leading, managing, and developing specialized domain architects.
- At least 10 years of practical experience in ERP and data architecture design, including modernization from legacy environments to composable architectures.
- Minimum 8 years of experience building and managing global data management platforms.
- At least 5 years of experience in data governance, including policy creation, governance frameworks, master data hierarchies, and oversight bodies.
- Minimum 5 years of people management and stakeholder management experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical design in business terms and influence others toward alignment.
- Strong capability in resolving architectural differences and sequencing enterprise architecture work into practical phases.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor, coach, and support colleagues.
- Preferred background includes SAP S/4HANA ERP Core and O&M global deployment experience.
- Additional advantage if familiar with cybersecurity and industrial architecture standards such as NIST, NERC CIP, or IEC 62443.
