Enterprise Account Manager (Public Sector) - East Africa

Role overview

This role sits within a team focused on growing adoption of Amazon Web Services across public sector organizations. The position is based in East Africa and is centered on expanding AWS presence in an emerging technology market while building long-term customer relationships.

The ideal candidate combines account management and sales experience with enough technical understanding to confidently engage senior executives, software developers, and IT architects. You should be proactive, organized, and able to create and execute a territory coverage plan that delivers consistent results.

What you'll do

• Drive revenue growth and business expansion across an assigned territory.
• Create, refine, and follow a territory plan to support market coverage.
• Handle multiple customer accounts at the same time over the long term.
• Present clear and persuasive AWS value propositions.
• Support faster customer adoption of AWS solutions and services.
• Partner with external stakeholders to widen reach and boost adoption.
• Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Travel occasionally, with limited travel expected.

Qualifications

Applicants need a strong background in technology-related sales, business development, or sales engineering/consulting. Experience managing public sector accounts is required. The role also calls for excellent spoken and written English, plus a university degree or equivalent practical experience.

A technical foundation in engineering, computer science, or management information systems is considered an advantage. Prior exposure to SaaS or cloud environments is also preferred.
