Job description
Role Overview
This fixed-term, part-time English teaching position is based in the Greater Kapiti Area and is due to begin at the start of Term 3, 2026. The school is looking for a motivated, imaginative, and collaborative teacher who can contribute to an English learning team and bring energy, care, and a student-focused mindset to the classroom.
The successful candidate will help foster strong literacy skills and a genuine appreciation of language and literature. The role sits within a supportive, innovative environment that encourages professional development, shared practice, and growth as an educator. Experience teaching English through to NCEA Level 3 is preferred.

Requirements
- Strong capability in teaching English.
- Preference for experience teaching up to NCEA Level 3.

- Suitable for a first-year teacher.
Terms and Conditions
- This is a fixed-term role to cover maternity leave.
- Planned start date: 20/07/2026.
- Planned end date: 8/12/2026.
- Applications close on Friday, 17 July 2026.
- FTTE: up to 0.7.
- Expected working time is approximately 40 hours per week.
- Employment terms, including base salary, are governed by the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement (STCA).
- For trained and registered teachers, the base salary range is $65,685 to $105,686, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Actual pay will be determined through a salary assessment once the role is confirmed.
