Role Overview
This is a contract-based remote opportunity for an English Language Specialist supporting high-quality audio transcription and transcript refinement work.
Compensation and Workload
The pay range for this role is $20 to $30 per hour. The expected commitment is 10 to 40 hours each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert English audio into written transcripts with strong accuracy and consistency.
- Polish transcripts produced by automation by fixing spelling, grammar, and context-related mistakes.
- Attach metadata labels and annotations where needed to improve the usefulness of the data.
- Make sure all work follows the required quality bar and client formatting instructions.
- Work with the client’s team to confirm expectations and clear up any unclear portions of the source audio.
- Keep clear records of completed tasks and help identify ways to improve the process.
Requirements
- Very strong English fluency, including excellent command of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Solid background in English transcription and captioning work.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills, with a careful and precise working style.
- Strong focus on detail, particularly when reviewing machine-produced transcripts.
- Comfort with adding metadata annotations and tagging language data.
- Good time management and the ability to handle deadlines in a remote environment.
