Role overview

This is a remote contract role for an English Generalist focused on improving AI-produced English content and supporting language-model quality. The role involves part-time to full-time availability, with a weekly commitment ranging from 10 to 40 hours, and compensation set at $20 to $100 per hour.

Responsibilities

Review, revise, and polish AI-generated English writing to improve grammar, sentence structure, clarity, and overall style.
Use research to verify facts and strengthen the accuracy of material used for AI training.
Apply AP Style, proofreading, and copyediting standards across a range of content types.
Create and improve prompts, tone directions, and style rules for language-model outputs.
Examine and label text data to help systems better understand and generate language.
Work with teams across functions to spot quality gaps and raise the standard of the written output.

Requirements

Strong command of English at an advanced level, with excellent attention to grammar, syntax, and sentence construction.
At least some professional background in copyediting, proofreading, or linguistics.
Ability to understand written material quickly and adjust to different tones and writing styles.
Working knowledge of AP Style and other commonly used editorial guidelines.
Well-developed research ability, including the capacity to organize and explain complex information clearly.
