Job description

Role overview

This is a remote contractor position paid on an hourly basis. The work focuses on reviewing AI-generated English responses and, when needed, creating expert-level language content. You will judge the quality of reasoning, review step-by-step edits, and provide clear, practical feedback that helps improve model output.

Your evaluation work will center on correctness, clarity, and prompt adherence. You will look for mistakes in logic, meaning, method, or subject understanding, verify facts where needed, and produce strong explanations and revised model answers that show the right approach. You will also compare multiple AI outputs and score them according to correctness and reasoning quality.

The employer is SME Careers, an AI data services company and a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate. Their work supports training data for major AI companies and foundation model labs, and your language expertise will contribute to making AI responses more accurate, natural, and well explained.

Key responsibilities

  • Create high-quality prompts and responses across a range of topics to support AI training.
  • Review and rank AI-generated answers to improve accuracy, fluency, and relevance to context.
  • Check models for factual issues, weak reasoning, and potential bias, and confirm they perform reliably across different use cases.
  • Evaluate responses for clarity, precision, and alignment with the original prompt.
  • Provide actionable written feedback and corrections that explain the preferred method or revision.

Profile requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related discipline.
  • Excellent English ability at C2 or native level preferred; at minimum, C1 proficiency is required.
  • Professional-level fluency in at least one additional language is strongly preferred.
  • Solid command of grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse flow, and style editing across different registers.
  • Strong detail orientation with the ability to spot meaning shifts, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and subtle language errors.
  • Capability to explain corrections clearly and professionally in writing.
  • Comfort working with style guides and maintaining consistency in tone, terminology, punctuation, and capitalization.
  • Dependability, self-management, and the ability to deliver steady quality in an hourly remote contractor setup across time zones.
  • Prior exposure to AI data training or annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is a strong advantage.
  • Practical experience with tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar AI platforms.
