English Language Expert

Role Overview

This is a remote contract opportunity for an English language specialist who can assess AI-generated responses, draft high-quality language content, and provide precise feedback that improves reasoning, clarity, and overall quality. The work is hourly and contractor-based. As part of an AI data services organization supporting leading AI model developers, your language expertise will contribute directly to making model outputs more accurate, natural, and well-explained.

There is no active assignment attached to this opening at the moment. If your profile matches the need, you will be contacted first when a suitable project becomes available, and you may also gain access to future work through the expert network.

What the Role Involves

• Review AI-written English responses and judge whether they are correct, clear, and aligned with the prompt.
• Spot issues in logic, meaning, methodology, and conceptual understanding.
• Fact-check claims when required and provide accurate corrections.
• Write improved explanations and revised solutions that demonstrate the proper approach.
• Compare multiple AI outputs and rate them based on accuracy and quality of reasoning.
• Create prompt-and-response examples across different topics to support AI training.
• Check models for inaccuracies and bias, and verify performance across different use cases.

Required Profile

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline.
• Advanced English ability at C1 level or above is required; native-level or C2 proficiency is preferred.
• Knowledge of grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse organization, and editing for different styles and registers.
• Excellent precision in catching meaning shifts, unclear wording, contradictions, and subtle language errors.
• Ability to explain corrections clearly and professionally in written form.
• Comfort working with style rules and maintaining consistency in tone, terminology, punctuation, and capitalization.
• Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to deliver steady quality in a remote contractor setup across time zones.
• Prior exposure to AI training, annotation, editorial quality assurance, localization QA, or copyediting is highly desirable.
• Practical experience using AI tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar platforms.
