Role Overview
This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar. The Engineering Team Leader will guide the engineering function so the property’s facilities, equipment, and systems remain safe, efficient, and aligned with guest service expectations, maintenance standards, operational needs, and brand requirements.

Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day work of the engineering team, allocate tasks, and track performance.
- Oversee preventive and corrective upkeep across guest rooms, hotel equipment, and public areas.
- Handle maintenance calls and equipment failures quickly to limit disruption to guests.
- Assist the Chief Engineer with planning work schedules, manpower deployment, and priority setting for maintenance activities.
- Make sure health, safety, and fire life safety rules are followed consistently.
- Keep an eye on energy usage and contribute to efforts that improve efficiency and lower operating costs.
- Keep maintenance documentation, logs, and reports accurate and up to date.
- Work with other departments to help the hotel run smoothly.
- Support the training, coaching, and performance growth of engineering colleagues.
- Manage outside contractors and verify that their work meets quality and safety expectations.
Requirements
- Diploma or technical certification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or a similar discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team-leading role is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance systems.
- Solid understanding of safety practices, preventive maintenance, and compliance obligations.
