The company serves clients in the USA, Canada, Australia, and growing European markets, backed by a team of more than 30 engineers.
Role Overview
The company is hiring an Engineering Manager to guide the engineering function, maintain delivery quality, and strengthen engineering systems and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the engineering team so projects are completed on schedule and meet customer quality expectations.
- Organize engineering manpower across several projects and keep track of workload distribution.
- Assess project scope and determine the engineering effort required before starting work.
- Check the precision and completeness of shop drawings, engineering files, cut lists, CNC data, hardware schedules, and material reports.
- Perform final reviews before projects are sent to the client.
- Work with clients to understand requirements and resolve technical questions.
- Track project status, team output, and productivity levels.
- Create and improve engineering standards, SOPs, and quality control systems.
- Coach, develop, and review the performance of engineers and technical designers.
- Support the use and upkeep of Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, Mozaik, and similar engineering tools.
- Coordinate closely with Sales and Operations to keep execution smooth.
- Look for ways to improve processes, raise productivity, and shorten turnaround times.
- Resolve technical issues, manage feedback, and handle escalations in a professional way.
Required Skills and Background
- Strong working knowledge of cabinetry, millwork, modular furniture, closets, and woodworking production.
- Good understanding of fabrication methods, construction practices, and manufacturing workflows.
- Hands-on exposure to CAD/CAM tools used in the wood products industry, including AutoCAD.
- Ability to estimate engineering effort and assign resources efficiently.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving ability.
- Sharp attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
- Capability to manage several projects at once while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related field. The role calls for 8 to 12 years of experience in cabinetry, millwork, furniture manufacturing, or engineering services, and prior people-management experience is preferred.
